Our Company
Our firm provides private portfolio management for a select group of high net worth individuals, wealthy family groups, institutions, pension and profit-sharing plans.
Each account is individually managed. Our investment strategy focuses on identifying the most powerful global economic trends, and then selecting those companies that operate on a worldwide basis and are expected to profit greatly from those trends.
The goal of our firm is to provide individuals and smaller institutions the same high quality, fundamental investment services offered to large pension funds, but for accounts as small as $100,000.
Established on Cape Cod in 1986, the key to our long-term success is a combination of
value-based investing with a global perspective. Our goal is to deliver above average performance without creating a disproportionate amount of risk and volatility.
Our Investment Approach
Because we conduct our own market research and form our own investment opinions, we are aware of stock market trends that are often hidden behind the news, and act accordingly.
We are “old fashioned” stock pickers, who really do what stock pickers are supposed to do.
We do our own research. We read voraciously and devour financial statements.
By choice we are located on Cape Cod, far from the herd mentality of Wall Street. We don't react to the continuous parade of analyst opinion in the media. Instead, we take a patient, long-term approach to investing, consistent with the relaxed, thoughtful atmosphere here on the Cape. We don’t panic during times of market volatility.
We follow a small group of companies passionately, get to know them extremely well, and hold onto them for a long time. If we begin to see changes in a company that we believe will affect the long-term benefit to our clients, we will sell.
Portfolio Managers
Tom McIntyre

Tom has been President of McIntyre, Freedman & Flynn since 1992, and Chief Portfolio Manager since 1991. Tom leads the effort in digging out attractive companies for our portfolios, following them in detail, and determining the right time to add the stocks to investors’ accounts. When it comes time to eliminate a company from our list, Tom assumes final responsibility for that decision.
Originally from Lenox, Massachusetts, in the heart of the Berkshires, Tom graduated with high honors from Notre Dame in 1977, with a degree in Economics. He earned his MBA from Notre Dame in 1979. McIntyre is a Certified Public Accountant, and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), with over twenty-five
years experience in financial analysis and portfolio management. He has been
quoted in many of the important financial journals and live radio including the
MarketWatch with Chuck Jaffe, Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, the Financial Times of
London, Money Magazine and Kiplinger’s.
Rob Flynn

Rob joined McIntyre, Freedman & Flynn in 1996 as an Equity Analyst. Rob’s exhaustive research ability and penchant for discovering new investment opportunities has had an overwhelmingly positive influence on our performance.

Vice President of McIntyre, Freedman & Flynn and became a partner of the firm.
Rob is a 1996 graduate of Notre Dame, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in
